Icon Zar (Lora Leder), was born in Moscow in the early 80's.

After her studies at the Russian Art Academy she also showed interest for film-directing by following various directors and producers in the local scene.

 

She started her professional career in 1998.
From 2002 her success reached an international level.


She calls herself "The last daughter of Russian communism" and her Art is an alliance between the pop and post-soviet ideology with a great deal of sense of humour about them.

Her idea is: "I see a world full of happiness with positive energy for this reason I use strong colors. For me art is a great form of entertainment, like a Broadway show..."

 

Her extraordinary talent is a caleidoscope of emotions and expressions of joy and a soulful hope in a visual world of everlasting life.

 

Icon Zar is considered the most energetic and colorful artist of modern Russia and her masterpieces bring Russia and Europe closer together in a form of art for all tastes.

The art forms of Icon Zar and her great versatility go from painting directly into music and urban sounds. Her voice has been recorded in many projects from jazz to electronic music  with various international labels.
